"Avatar" director James Cameron has been sued for the second time in nearly as many weeks by someone claiming to have come up with the idea for the sci-fi mega-hit, Reuters reported. Cameron's attorney, Bert Fields, and Fox both slammed the latest suit by science fiction writer Bryant Moore as without merit. Moore is seeking more than US$2 billion from Cameron and 20th Century Fox, claiming that Cameron used his screenplays for the movies "Aquatica" and "Descendants: The Pollination" as the basis for the 2009 film.

>Pen swallowed 25 years ago removed

An old woman visiting her doctor recently was found to have in her stomach a pen she swallowed by accident 25 years ago, the Daily Mail reported. An urgent investigation revealed areas of the 76-year-old woman's large intestine had become inflamed. When questioned, the patient remembered that 25 years before she had used a felt-tip pen to poke her tonsils while looking at them in a mirror. However, she had then fallen forward off a step and swallowed the pen by accident. Her husband had dismissed her story after abdominal X-rays came up normal. It was removed under general anesthetic and amazingly the doctors found the pen was still in working order.

An electronics company engineer has fathered an estimated 14 children through free donations of his semen that he advertises over the Internet, Reuters reported. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the San Francisco Bay-area sperm donor poses a threat to public health and has ordered him to stop or face up to a year in prison and a US$100,000 fine. But Trent Arsenault, a healthy, 36-year-old bachelor who professes a strong religious upbringing, saw his sperm giveaways as acts of compassion and insisted he's not abandoning his genetic generosity without a fight. During the past five years, he has given his sperm on more than 328 occasions to at least 46 women, resulting in 14 births.
